The Evening Heron is an open-access poetry publication that is committed to no-cost access to issues, and no-cost submissions. This commitment aligns with our mission statement which engenders the reach of poetry in our every day lives. We view the engagement with poetry as important as ever, thus easing the common barriers to poetry and poetic thought is of the utmost importance to our efforts. We believe in the propensity for radical change that poetry imposes at the societal level, as such we will always encourage submissions from marginalised and progressive voices who are passionate at the prospect of reinvigorating leftist thought through the written form. We are independently run and self-funded. Our open-access model is made possible by voluntary donations. There are many ways to contribute and we encourage readers to share the publication freely and follow us on social media, if they are in a position to do so. We humbly thank anyone who considers donating to the efforts outlined above.
